ECAA is a non -profit, 501(C)(3), non-political , independent , community -based organization that
provides variety of community support services to people of Ethiopian origin in Atlanta and
surrounding areas since 1983.

Our Mission

The mission of the Ethiopian Community Association in Atlanta (ECAA) is to serve, empower, and
advance the interests of Ethiopian Americans and Ethiopians living in Atlanta and its surrounding
areas. Our goal to help and facilitate the integration of our community into American society while
preserving and celebrating our rich cultural heritage. We strive to create a vibrant , well-informed,
and connected Ethiopian American community that thrives in its new home.

Celebrating 40 Years of Empowering Ethiopian Communities

The Ethiopian Community Association in Atlanta, Inc. (ECAA) was founded on February 07, 1983, with a simple yet powerful idea in mind: to establish a Community Association that could provide support and assistance to newcomers from Ethiopia. What began as a small group of dedicated individuals has grown into a flourishing organization with a positive impact on the lives of Ethiopians in Georgia fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment for its members.

How to become a member

Empowering and Connecting Ethiopian and Ethiopian American Community in Atlanta

Anyone with Ethiopian heritage, Ethiopian and Ethiopian-American that lives in Atlanta and the area, regardless of their living status in the US, or regardless of their ethnicity, race or religion can be a member.

Being a member of ECAA has lots of benefit; just to mention a few, membership allow you to meet and know different people from your country,  being and belonging to a common interest group, exchange valuable information, share ideas and attend different events and functions at the center also allow you to join Edir.

The annual membership fee for the association is $30.00/person and if one chooses to be a member of Edir the annual membership is

 

The benefit enormous, most Ethiopians know very well the value Edir.
